Leonard Wolf, 86, Centennial, Colo., formerly of Dickinson, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Littleton Adventist Hospital, Littleton, Colo. Leonard’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Monday, November 3, 2014 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Todd Kreitinger as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Dickinson Honors Team. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Deacon Ron Keller presiding. Visitation will continue on Monday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the church.

Leonard was born December 27, 1927 at Medora, the second youngest of eight to Charles and Ethel (Lebo) Wolf. He grew up on a ranch south of Medora and attended the DeMores School, and then Belfield High School. Following high school he went on to college to study forestry, and during this time he worked as a farm laborer.

He was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and served honorably in the field artillery at the rank of corporal. Following the war, he continued college for botany and agronomy while working part time jobs. After graduation, he went to work for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, first as a soil conservationist and then as a loan appraiser.

Leonard met his future wife, Lillian McLaughlin at a dance, and they were married in November 1958. They had two sons, Thomas born in 1961, and Howard born in 1963. His job with the U.S.D.A. would take the family to Killdeer, Wahpeton, Napoleon, Rolla, and finally Fessenden, before retiring back to Dickinson. Following retirement from the U.S.D.A., he worked four more years as the Billings County Tax Assessor. In retirement, he enjoyed gardening and stock trading. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Leonard is survived by his sons, Thomas (Rhonda) Wolf, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Howard Wolf, Denver, Colo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian on February 12, 2013; his parents; and seven siblings, one as an infant, one as a child, two during WWII, and the others as adults.
