LeRoy Andrew Mosbrucker was born on January 30, 1939 to Jake and Rose (Greff) Mosbrucker on the family farm near Mott. He grew up going to school and working on the farm. He joined and served honorably in the U.S. Army.
LeRoy was united in marriage to Wanita Kuhn on April 30, 1963, and together they raised eight children; Lana, Pat, Tammy, Edward, Lori, Kenny, Leroy, Jr., and Lisa. He worked in carpentry and construction with his dad, and eventually operated his own business. He did remodeling, building houses, roofing, and installation of doors. On the side he enjoyed building benches, windmills and other carpentry projects.
He loved fishing, especially teaching his family and going with his friends. He also enjoyed polka music and dancing, horseshoes, and above all sharing time and activities with family. He had built sheds for Pro Build for many years, being known as “Shed Head”. He played the accordion, pinochle, liked to speak German to everyone, even if they didn’t know what he was saying. He will be remembered for always adding fun and humor to everything he did, and yes for his potato salad. He was a member of the German Hungarian Club, St. Anthony Club, St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, and had served on the Veterans Honor Team for over 40 years. Wanita would lovingly refer to him as “piggy”.
