Llewellyn Matthew Alexenko, a life-long resident of Dunn County, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021. Due to Covid-19, there will only be a graveside service for Lewellyn at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday November 23, 2021 at the Grassy Butte Seventh-Day Adventist Cemetery.
Llewellyn Matthew Alexenko was born in Dickinson on August 3, 1937 to Matt and Emma (Kabanuk) Alexenko.
He loved the hills and valleys of western North Dakota. He loved taking care of livestock, seeding and harvesting grain and all that was involved in being a farmer.
On June 12, 1967, he was united in marriage to Sharon Dickhaut and to this union three children were born, Brent, Brad and Tiffany.
Llewellyn was a man of many talents. He enjoyed building furniture and turning bowls out of rare, exotic woods, many of which he would give away to family and friends.
He had a strong faith in the Lord and was an active member of the Grassy Butte Seventh-Day Adventist Church, in which he held many leading positions.
He loved playing the piano, accordion, and in earlier life, the trumpet.
He also sat on the local election board for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; son, Brad (Paulette); daughter, Tiffany (Kent Thomas); brother, Dallas; grandchildren, Luka and Ryder Alexenko, Alex, Zach, Micah and Gracie Thomas; along with step-grandson, Ethan Gibb.
Llew was preceded in death by his son, Brent; his parents, Matt and Emma; his sister, Sharon Miller; his father-in-law, Reiny Dickhaut; and mother-in-law, Lorraine Teti.
Llewellyn is now sleeping in the Lord, waiting for the Life Giver to wake him up.
