Linda C. Wagner, 81, Dickinson, died Monday, May 15, 2017 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Linda’s funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Monday, May 22, 2017 at St. John Evan. Lutheran Church, Dickinson, with Rev. Joe Natwick and Rev. Lisa Lewton officiating. Interment will follow at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church.

Linda Werner was born May 1, 1936 in Hazen, the daughter of Wilhelm and Clara (Rueb) Werner. She was baptized in Bren and graduated from the eighth grade in Nebo Public School. After graduating, she worked on the farm and then as a waitress at Vi’s Café in Mandan where she met Edward Wagner. They were married June 6, 1955 in Center. Ed and Linda lived in Mandan where Ed owned and drove truck. They had three boys Clinton, Eddie and Ronald.

In 1960, they moved to Dickinson, where Linda took some classes through Dickinson State College and became a bookkeeper for the truck company. Ed and Linda retired in 1988. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends in 2005. They were married 53 years when Ed passed away in 2008.

She enjoyed bowling, gardening, reading and playing cards. In addition, she was a member of Dickinson Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame and St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Linda is survived by her sons, Eddie D. (Billie Jo) Wagner, Sumter, S.C. and Ronald R. (Pam) Wagner, Missoula, Mont; step-daughter, Judi Reynolds, Waukegan, Ill; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Janice Sorenson, Sedro Woolley, Wash. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward; son, Clinton (deceased in 2006); siblings, Wilman Fredrickson, Melvin Werner, Lorretta Zahn, Betty Lou Werner, Nester Werner and Diane Schoenwald.
