Linda G. Kenner, 64, Dickinson, died Sunday, October 31, 2010 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, following an 8 1/2 year battle with cancer. Linda’s funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, November 4, 2010 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson, with Rev. Lisa Lewton officiating. Interment will follow at the Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
Linda G. Knutson was born July 22, 1946 in Williston, the daughter of Thomas R. and Margaret “Peggy” (Soiseth) Knutson. She was raised and educated in Williston, graduating from Williston High School in 1964.
Linda married Rodney Kenner on January 28, 1966 at the First Lutheran Church in Williston. They had lived in Williston and Minot prior to moving to Dickinson in 1978. In Dickinson she worked at Mann’s Automotive Supply, Hoerner and Associates and Great Plains Clinic.
Linda was very talented in working on crafts, knitting, and as a seamstress. She loved going RVing, boating and skiing. Her greatest pleasure came from being a grandma and spending time with her grandkids. She had belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary at the Eagles.
Linda is survived by her husband, Rod; their two daughters, Tracy (Michael) Paulson, Valley City, and Wanda (Brett) Nilles, Fargo; six grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah, Elisabeth and Noah Paulson, Christian and Isabelle “Izzy” Nilles; two sisters, Margo (Mel) Ehr, Minot, and Luann Hirschkorn, Tucson, Ariz.; mother-in-law, Elsie Kenner, Devils Lake; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and LaVerne Thurow; brother-in-law, Vern Hirschkorn; and her father-in-law, Harold Kenner. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.
