Llewellyn Ashville Ward, Sr.,72, Dickinson, died at home with family by his side on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. Lou’s services will take place at a later date in Maine.

Llewellyn Ashville Ward was born December 10, 1951 in Steep Falls, Maine, the son of Ellery Ward II and Nelly (Aggett) Ward. He was raised and educated in Maine, having graduated from Bonney Eagle High School. He joined the United States Navy on April 20, 1971 and served honorably until April 14, 1975.

Lou married Nancy Arsenault and to this union two children, Louie and Heidi were born. In 2002, he developed a relationship with Susan Steele and with this he formed a great connection with her son Corey.

He worked as a carpenter in Gorham, Maine and then went to work for Sylvania until his retirement.

He belonged to a band named “The Webster Street Band” with longtime friends, John and Brandy Caron. Lou served as a Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts. He was a self taught guitar player at the age of 11 which made music a big part of his identity. He would walk down to the river and play his guitar for anyone around.

Lou is survived by his companion, Susan; children, Lou (Jenna) Ward II, Grand Junction, CO, and Heidi (Erin) Ward, Dickinson, and Corey Pinette, Berlin, NH; six grandchildren, Jacob, Skyla, Elijah, Lucas, Landon, and Liam; and two great-grandchildren, Haidyn and Elliot; siblings, Cynthia “Midge” Harmon, Limington, Maine, Morris “Boo” Ward, Steep Falls, Marcellus “Marcy” Ward, Steep Falls, Amaryllis “Toto” Foster, Mass., Mahlon “Teenie” Ward, Cornish, Maine, Clarrissa “Rachin” Arsenault, Steep Falls, and Cassendra “Cassie” Harnett, Mass.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Leroy “Meezie” Ward, Ellery “Bingo” Ward, Rosalind “Rozie” Johnson, and Elaine Casazza; nephews, Marcellus Kirby and Larry Riccitelli; and his parents.
