Lloyd V. Moldenhauer, 85, Dickinson, died Monday, January 18, 2010 at his home. Lloyd’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, January 22, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Keith Streifel as the Celebrant, Fr. Jim Braaten as Con-celebrant, and assisted by Deacon Bob Zent. Entombment will follow at the Dickinson Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service with a Knights of Columbus rosary and vigil at 5:30 p.m. with Deacon Bob Zent presiding.

Lloyd was born February 19, 1924 in Dickinson, the son of Henry and Bertha (Spilker) Moldenhauer. He was raised and educated in the Dickinson area having received his education in rural school. Lloyd has lived his entire life in the Dickinson area.

Lloyd married Rose Grosser on January 15, 1946 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. They farmed and ranched southeast of Dickinson for 43 years, when due to health reasons he retired and they moved into town.

Lloyd was a member of the Knights of Columbus since December 1956 and he had become a Fourth Degree member. He also was a member of the Farm Bureau and Rotary International. Since retiring he became a carpenter and cabinet maker, having volunteered at the House of Manna making furniture. Whenever possible he loved to play a good game of pinochle.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Rose; their nine children, Virginia (Bob) Zent, Dickinson, David Moldenhauer, Eyota, Minn., Kathleen (Dan) Klempel, Bismarck, Judy (Dave) Campbell, Prairie du Chien, Wisc., Nancy (Stan Schultz) Harris, Revere, Mass., Vernon (Laurie Lynn) Moldenhauer, Coleman, Mich., Lee (Cynthia) Moldenhauer, New Castle, Colo., Esther (Ron) Martin, Killdeer, and Eric (Lori) Moldenhauer, Wright, Wyo.; 32 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Evangeline (Edward) Pentz, Toledo, Ohio, and Elsie Mae (William) Thomas, Ft. Myers, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Eilert and Oscar; and one sister, Ruth Donnelly.
