Loretta M. Stoltz, 78, Dickinson, died Thursday, May 19, 2016 at CHI St. Joseph’s Hospital, Dickinson. Loretta’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9 a.m., Monday, May 23, 2016 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Chuck Huck as the celebrant, and Fr. Keith Streifel con-celebrating. Interment will take place at St. Thomas Cemetery, Gladstone. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, with a rosary & vigil at 4 p.m., with Deacon Ron Keller presiding.

Loretta M. Heidt was born April 14, 1938 at Peaceful Valley Township, Slope County, the daughter of Roy and Veronica (Olheiser) Heidt. Following her marriage to John Stoltz on August 7, 1956 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, they moved to a farm south of Gladstone where they raised six boys and two girls. They farmed and raised chickens until 1987, when they moved to Dickinson. While in Dickinson she worked at a variety of places. Loretta retired in 2008 from Dickinson Public Schools as a Special Education bus driver, a position she held for over 19 years and truly enjoyed.

Following the death of her mother, her dad remarried, Wilhelmina Lantz Berger, with this brought 11 more children into the family. Loretta was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, and the St. Anthony’s. She enjoyed baking, word search puzzles, spending time on the computer, and the coffee times she had at Rosie’s.

Loretta is survived by her children, Doug (Diane) Stoltz, Bismarck, Mel (Joan) Stoltz, Valley City, Allen (Margaret) Stoltz, Blair, Neb., Larry (Peter Englert) Stoltz, Washington, D.C., Denelle (Leonard) Hibl, Dickinson, Lyle (Lisa) Stoltz, Dickinson, Chad (Nancy) Stoltz, Dickinson, and Joelle Davenport, Richardton; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; three siblings, Vince (Cicila) Heidt, Wisconsin, Roy (Shirley) Heidt, Livingston, Mont., and Dorothy Huck, Fargo; brother-in-law, Victor (Irene) Stoltz; sister-in-law, Rose Stoltz; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, John on February 28, 2014; her parents; granddaughter, Kaycee Davenport; and siblings, George Heidt, Ralph Heidt, John Heidt, Leo Heidt, Sally Roller, Veronica Dukart, and Anton Heidt.

The family would like to thank everyone at St. Benedict’s Health Center, and from PACE for their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Benedict’s Health Center in support of their Activities Department.
