Lorraine Dorval was born January 17, 1923 in Dickinson, the daughter of George and Antonia (Burnett) Dorval. She was raised and educated in Belfield. Lorraine married Sidney Burwick, and they farmed south of South Heart until the late 1950’s, at which time they moved into Dickinson.

Lorraine was a hard worker and wonderful supporter of her family. She worked as a hostess and waitress at various locations throughout her life, but due to macular degeneration having taken her eye sight she was forced to retire in 2000.

Her family was everything to her. She traveled extensively with Randy and Keith to wrestling tournaments, as she was their biggest fan and support.  She was also a racing fan for Dwight, Kevin, Randy.  The time spent with family was always special to her. She also loved to be in her yard, her flowers and trees brought her contentment. She always found time to visit over a cup of coffee and wafer cookies with anyone that would stop by.

Lorraine is survived by her seven children, Le Roy (Rita) Burwick, Washington, Marlys Kessel, Fargo, Carol (Gene) Klemm, Dickinson, Dwight (Georgi) Burwick, Dickinson, Kevin (Rita) Burwick, Dickinson, Keith (Sandy) Burwick, Dickinson, and Randy (Connie) Burwick, Hettinger; 21 grandchildren; 26, great-grandchildren; four great, great-grandchildren; one brother, Clarence (Dorothy) Dorval, Belfield; and one sister, Angela Cossette, Horace. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Arthur, Wilmer and Archie; and one grandson, Jeremy. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
