Lorraine Margaret Frieze was born April 10, 1941, the daughter of Mike and Elizabeth (Jacob) Frieze. She was raised and educated in Mott. Friends introduced Lorraine to Nick. They married on October 3, 1960, and were blessed with a marriage spanning 62 years. Of this union five children were born, Leon, Brenda, Richard, Allen and Wayne.
She worked many years at the Eagles Club. She was very active in the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, having served as President for two years and traveling several times to Nashville, TN for conventions. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, especially Christmas cookies. The family would often get trays of cookies in July as she cleaned out her freezers so she could start baking and refilling them again.
Lorraine and Nick did a lot of camping. They eventually started camping at motocross tracks instead of lakes as they followed their grandson Mike to his races. She was his biggest fan. She would often tease him that she was going to get on his bike, go out and race and “beat ‘em all”. She loved gardening and tending to her flowers, playing bingo and the card game Blitz. She truly loved little children, making friends with any child wherever she went.
Lorraine is survived by her husband, Nick; sons, Leon (Wanda), Richard (Joyce), Allen (Karla) and Wayne (Melinda) all of Dickinson; daughter, Brenda (Bruce) Jensen, Jamestown; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Floyd (Arlene), Marvin, Leonard, and Melvin Frieze; sister-in-law, Delores Frieze.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George (Nancy), and Mike; sister, Lena; and sister-in-law, Wendy Frieze.
