Lorraine P. (Frenzel) Wittig, 77, formerly of Dickinson, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 at her home in Muskegon, Mich. A rosary and Celebration of Life Ceremony for Lorraine will take place at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Lorraine Philemeana Frenzel was born September 29, 1935 to parents Louis and Emelia (Olheiser) Frenzel, in Dickinson. Her father died when she was one year old. The family later moved to St. Placidus, when her mother married Jacob Dauenhauer. Lorraine graduated from Mott High School in Mott in 1953. While going to school she worked at Playhouse Cinema and also the café. Following graduation she moved to Bismarck, and worked at Patterson Hotel in the café and also at St. Alexius Hospital in the kitchen.
She married Marvin Heth who was in the United States Army and also the father of her four children, Terrol Ann (William) Gauld, Charleston, S.C.; Scot (DaRala) Heth, Muskegon, Mich.; Michael (Diane) Heth, Lodi, Calif.; and Bradly L. Heth, N. Charleston, S.C. During their army life they lived in Ft. Leonardwood, Mo., Fort Lewis, Wash., Fort Kobbe, Canal Zone, Panama, Stockton, Calif., Hamilton Air Base, California, and Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. This relationship ended in 1979.
Lorraine married Ben Wittig in November 1979. They lived in Lodi, Calif. where he owned and farmed a grape vineyard. In 1988, they moved to Kula, Maui and enjoyed square dancing three nights a week. Lorraine volunteered at Kula Sans Auxiliary where she was named Volunteer of the Year. She was involved in the Holy Ghost Catholic Church, and St. Joseph Cursillo Group in Makauna. She has resided in Muskegon, Mich. since 2003 to be closer to her sons.
Lorraine is survived by one daughter and three sons. Her grandchildren are Amanda (Frank) DiGangi, Brian Gauld, William Heth and Joshua Heth, Brittney Heth and Jacob Heth; and great grandchildren are Brayden and Mia DiGangi. She is also survived by brother, Tom (Elsie) Frenzel, Stockton, Calif.; Rosella Habestroh, Rapid City, S.D.; Louis Dauenhauer, North Dakota; Henry Dauenhauer, Canada; and half-brother Ted Dauenhauer, North Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather; husband; brothers Louie Frenzel, Fred Frenzel, and Eddie Frenzel, and sisters Barbara Strickland, Christine Smith, Pauline Wood, Magdaline Rash, Margaret Wolff, Bea Henley; and eight stepbrothers.
