Lydia J. Charles, 68, Gladstone, died Saturday, March 14, 2015 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. A Celebration of Life gathering will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Highland Cemetery, New Castle, Colo.

Lydia Jean Schultz was born November 18, 1946 to Arthur and Dorothy (Martin) Schultz at Alamosa, Colo. Lydia moved often with her parents as a child. She returned to Colorado in 1975. In 1979 she met the love of her life, Brian Charles. They were married on February 16, 1980 at New Castle. She worked for Art’s Seal Coating and Repair, New Castle; as the traffic control supervisor during the construction of I-70 through Glenwood Canyon, Glenwood Springs, Colo., and as supervisor for a commercial housekeeping company in Aspen, Colo. In 1995 she and Brian moved to Utah where she retired from Gonzo Inn, Moab, Utah. In 2011 Lydia and Brian moved to Gladstone where she lived until the tile of her death.

Lydia had an infectious smile and laugh. She was a hard worker but she always made her family her priority. No matter how tired she was she always had a hot meal for the kids, her cinnamon rolls and potato salad were the best in the world! In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, four wheeling, Nascar, and camping.

Lydia is survived by her husband, Brian, Gladstone; three children, Arthur (Janet) Lee, Rathdrum, Idaho, Christopher (Verlene) Lee, Kiowa, Colo., and Share (Koleta Williams) Lee Aurora, Colo.; one sister Elena (Dale) Harris, New Castle, Colo. She was preceded in death by her parents.
