Magdalena Hauck, 92, Richardton, died Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Richardton Health Center. Magdalena’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m., Friday, January 13, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton, with Fr. Thomas Wordekemper, OSB, as the celebrant. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday with a rosary & vigil at Ladbury Funeral Service at 7 p.m.

Magdalena Staudinger was born March 8, 1924 in Dickinson. She was the fourth of nine children born to John and Christina (Metz) Staudinger. She attended Green River School for six years. In 1936, she moved north of Richardton and attended school at Germania District #3 for two years. She also attended NYA, learned sewing, and was also a teacher’s assistant. Magdalena helped her father on the family farm; driving truck, milking cows, herding cattle and other farm work.

She married Paul A. Hauck on June 11, 1946. They lived 15 miles north of Richardton where they farmed the family farmstead for 40 years and raised nine children. Following retirement 1986, they moved three miles east of Richardton and in 2011 they made The Evergreen their home in Dickinson. In 2013, they moved to The Richardton Health Center. Magdalena enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and word searches. She made a quilt for each of her grandchildren. She loved cooking, canning and putting out a large garden every year.

She was a member of Peaceful Valley Homemakers, Christian Mothers and a 4-H leader for two years.

Magdalena is survived by her children, Carolyn (Daryl) Jurgens, Taylor, Richard (Linda) Hauck, Richardton, Marilyn (David) Marx, Dickinson, Gladys (Ben) Schwehr, Kennewick, Wash., Dwight (Susie) Hauck, Enumclaw, Wash., Glenn (Susy) Hauck, Dickinson, David (Laurie) Hauck, Richardton, and Bryan (Carmen) Hauck, Smoot, Wyo.; 29 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; siblings, Margaret (Eugene) Tormaschy, Taylor, Elmer Staudinger, Mott, Valentine (Marlene) Staudinger, Richardton, and John (LyNette) Staudinger, Orland Park, Ill. and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul on April 26, 2014; daughter Paulette Bosch, her parents; brother, Frank Staudinger; infant brother, Joseph Staudinger; and sisters, Louise Silvey, Regina Hauck and Deloris Boespflug.

In lieu of flowers, family prefers memorials to the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Richardton.
