Magdaline “Maggie” Zentner, 87, formerly of Glendive, Mont., died Monday, October 3, 2011 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Maggie’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, October 7, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Father Keith Streifel celebrating, interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Al Schwindt presiding.

Magdaline M. Heilman was born June 8, 1924 on the family farm east of Dickinson to Lawrence and Mary (Keller) Heilman. Maggie attended Versippi Grade School and High School. After graduation Maggie remained on the farm and helped with chores. Maggie also taught school in the Lefor and Versippi areas for three years. During the winter she worked as a bookkeeper for D. M. Jochim. Maggie married Anton Zentner at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on May 8, 1956. Together they made their home on a farm near Glendive, Mont., where Tony worked as a farmer and carpenter. Maggie continued to live in Glendive after Tony’s death and did not move to Dickinson until December of 2010.

Maggie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glendive, rosary leader, Catholic Daughters, and Sacred Heart Quilters. In her spare time Maggie enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sudoko, and crossword puzzles.

Maggie is survived by four step-children; Alex Zentner, Otley, Iowa, Rudy Zentner, Lancaster, Calif., Mona Goodwin, Apache Junction, Ariz., and Jana Mae Peterson, Anchorage, Alaska; nine brothers and sisters, George (Carol) Heilman, Turlock, Calif., Emelia Sabo, Gladstone, Joe (Agnes) Heilman, Myrtle Creek, Ore., Tillie Jordan, Ontario, Calif., Marie Dean, Garden Grove, Calif., John (Marge) Heilman, Lewiston, Calif., Pauline MacDougall, Englewood, Fla., Florence (Ervin) Heidecker, Dickinson, and Irene Praus, Dickinson; and 49 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Philip and Casper; one sister, Margaret; six nephews; five brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.
