Marcella “Marcie” Baumgartner, 80, Dickinson, ND our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt died Friday, April 11, 2008 at the Hill Top Home of Comfort, Killdeer. Marcie’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am, Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Biju Chittech as celebrant. Entombment will follow at the Dickinson Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 3 pm to 9 pm, Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a vigil at 7 pm, Monday at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Marcella Lutz was born in Mott, ND on May 11, 1927 the daughter of Anton and Magdalena (Schlosser) Lutz. She was raised and educated in Mott, graduating from high school in 1945. She worked for the Mott Commercial Bank until her marriage to Arthur “Art, A.E.” Baumgartner on September 19, 1949, at which time they moved to Dickinson.
Marcie was proud to be a stay at home mom. She volunteered at St. Patrick’s Church and Grade School, and Trinity High School throughout the many years her children attended school. She enjoyed her days when her husband was mayor of Dickinson attending the different city functions. Marcella always enjoyed visiting, especially with her sisters, Corona and Angie, her nieces, Marie and Toni, and dear friends Bridget, Martha and Sue.
Marcella is survived by her children, Linda (Tim) Wanner, Reno, NV, Carol (Terry) Leach, Sparks, NV, Michael Baumgartner, Shakopee, MN, and Charles (Wanda) Baumgartner, Coon Rapids, MN; ten grandchildren, Christopher Wanner, Reno, NV, Michele (Nathan) Roybal, Seattle, WA, Jeffrey (Carrie) Leach, Las Vegas, NV, Kelly Leach, Sparks, NV, Dr. Kari (Jeff) Martin, Columbus, MO, Heidi (Mike) Thomas, Raymore, MO, John Baumgartner, Fargo, ND, Daniel Baumgartner, Fargo, ND, Eric Baumgartner, Coon Rapids, MN, and Brandon Baumgartner, Coon Rapids, MN; two great-grandchildren, Adam and Noah Martin; her sisters, Corona Quamme and Angie Wiseman, Regent, ND; brother, Adam (Nori) Lutz, Moreno Valley, CA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother George; sister Margaret; and her husband Arthur on October 17, 2005.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Dickinson Catholic School Scholarship Fund.
