Margaret Edna (Knudson) Albaugh, 90, Dickinson, died on Monday, January 31, 2022 surrounded by her family. There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Margaret at 2 p.m., Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Chaplain David Jenkins officiating.

Margaret was born in Bird Island, MN, October 3, 1931 to Clarence and Catherine (Marchant) Knudson. She was the fourth of nine children. Margaret graduated in 1949 from St. Mary’s High School in Bismarck, after which she graduated from Christie’s Beauty School, in Bismarck.

Margaret married Lester “Corky” Albaugh on September 9, 1950 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bismarck.

Margaret traveled extensively with her husband, Lester, during his military career. After they retired from 33 plus years in the military service they lived in Bismarck, where they raised their two children. Later in life they spent winters in AZ and summers in ND, enjoying the beauty of both states.  While living summers in ND, Margaret enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren, who she loved so dearly. Margaret had a great sense of humor and was always everyone’s favorite. She was an avid reader, loved growing flowers, loved to ride horses, host different horse camps in ND and SD, and always had time for whoever came to her door.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Lester “Corky”, daughter, Rebecca Nybeck, Dickinson; daughter-in-law, Patty Albaugh, Bismarck; grandchildren, Desirae (Shane) Stangle, Miranda Hermanson, Kelsey Wymore, Karissa Albaugh, Kolton Albaugh; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Catherine Knudson; her son, Allen Albaugh; brothers, Earl (Mary) Knudson, Robert (Marilyn) Knudson; brother-in-law, Don Towle; sister, Beverly (Jim) Schumaker; and sister-in-law, Fran Knudson.
