Margaret Friesz, 84, Dickinson, ND, died Monday, January 1, 2007, at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Margaret’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 A.M., Thursday, January 4, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Joseph Arul as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 A.M. to 9 P.M., Wednesday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a rosary and vigil at 7 P.M., Wednesday at Ladbury Funeral Service with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding.

Margaret Jacob was born May 12, 1922 at Napoleon, ND, the daughter of Kasimer and Katherine (Kiefel) Jacob. She was raised and educated in Logan County, having attended country grade school.

Margaret married Frank E. Friesz on October 24, 1949 at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church, Mott. They moved to the Friesz family farm 20 miles north of South Heart where they farmed until 1963. They moved into Dickinson and in the late 1960’s she began her career as a cook. She worked at the Western Grill, the KC Club and the Paragon prior to retiring in 1985. Her husband Frank died on October 15, 1982.

Margaret belonged to the St. Anthony Club, German/Hungarian Club, the VFW Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary. She loved to sew, work in her garden, crocheting, cooking, baking and quilting.

Margaret is survived by her three children, Cathy (Guy) Tessier, Belfield, Verlie Lennick, Great Falls, MT, and Bernie Friesz, Dickinson; eight grandchildren, Brian (Jackie) Frank, Shawn (Sarah) Frank, Nikki (Donnie) Weidner, Eric, Eugene and Marcia Lennick, Lillie Tessier and Travis Cody Friesz; two step-grandchildren, Denver (Kristi) Tessier and Desiree (Josh) Kayl; four great-grandchildren and one due in May, Madolyn, Dawson and Devon Frank and Cooper Weidner; and four step-great-grandchildren and one due in February, Krystal and Memphis Tessier, and Tristin and Melanie Kayl. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son-in-law, Merv Lennick, and 11 brothers and sisters.
