Margaret Krivoruchka, 84, Dickinson, died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at CHI St. Alexius, Dickinson. Margaret’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Msgr. Patrick Schumacher as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Cemetery, Ukraina. Visitation will be on Monday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., Monday with Deacon Bob Stockert presiding.
Margaret Hruby was born at Wilton on January 20, 1932, the daughter of Mike and Mary (Skoropat) Hruby. She was raised in the Wilton area, having attended Grass Lake School No. 3, and graduating from Wilton High School.
Margaret was united in marriage to Sam Krivoruchka at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Wilton, on July 8, 1950. To this union six children were born, Ron, Roberta, Renae, Russell, Rita, and Roy. Margaret and Sam farmed and raised cattle in Ukraina northeast of Belfield. Sam died October 28, 1986. She remained on the farm for ten more years to help Roy and Cheryl get started on the farm.
She was active in her church as a Trustee at St. John’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Belfield, and also St. Mary’s Women’s Committee and kitchen helper. She enjoyed doing Ukrainian needle point crocheting, Hardanger and gardening. Her true devotion was her love for God and her family, especially her 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Margaret is survived by her children, Ron (Susie) Krivoruchka, Killdeer, Roberta Quivey, Denver, Colo., Renae (John) Schiermeister, Mandan, Russell (Shelly) Krivoruchka, Bismarck, Rita (Gerald) Binstock, Dickinson, and Roy (Cheryl) Krivoruchka, Belfield; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Pearl Zerr, Mandan, and Donald (Lou) Hruby, Bismarck. She was preceded in death by her husband Sam; her parents; infant brother, William; brother, Albert Hruby; in-laws, Joe and Lena Krivoruchka; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Katie Rodakowski; grandparents; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
