Margaret M. Anton, 99, Dickinson, died Monday, March 19, 2018 at her home. Margaret’s Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Inurnment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. There will be a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service, with Deacon Dallas Carlson presiding.
Margaret M. Morel was born October 30, 1918 in Gladstone, daughter of Dominick and Katherina (Krug) Morel. She was raised and educated in the Gladstone area.
On September 25, 1935, she was united in marriage to Jack J. Anton at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson. They made their home in Dickinson where she worked as a housekeeper, at St. Benedict’s, Health Center, also at Woolworth’s and she had her own daycare. Her husband Jack died December 1988.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, making afghans, and doing embroidery. She made sure all of her children and grandchildren, received an afghan and embroidered dish towels. She belonged to the Eagles Auxiliary.
Margaret is survived by four children, Margaret (Charles) Wighaus, Jack (Judy) Anton, Doug (Paula) Anton and Gary Anton, all of Dickinson; daughter-in-law, Arlie Anton, Dickinson; ten grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Irene Childers, Dickinson, sister-in-law, Regina Morel, Gladstone; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; two sons, Ronald and Allen (Sophie); sisters, Eva, Anna, Katherine, Marie, Betty, Regina, Barbara and Rose; brothers, Carl, Joe and Frank; one grandson; one great-granddaughter; and one great-great-grandson.
