Marie Heier was born November 14, 1926, on the family farm north of Glen Ullin, the daughter of Frank and Kathryn (Keller) Heier.

Proud to be called a farmer’s daughter and wife. She always had a sparkle in her eye whenever she recalled stories of life on the family farm south of Richardton. She was all too happy to tell how hard she worked alongside our dad. A story shared by many farm families.

Marie married Frank Zentner on October 29, 1946, and together they raised five children and farmed for 33 years. Frank passed away July 29, 1980. After his passing, she moved to Richardton in 1981.

She loved to play cards, was always ready to dance and enjoyed tending her flower and vegetable gardens. Always active she enjoyed being a member of Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters and American Legion Auxiliary for many years.

Marie loved her grandchildren. She had a special place in her heart for all little children, and they always left her house with a little treat. Frankly no one escaped her generosity. She loved to chat over a cup of coffee and a homemade cookie.

She is survived by her five children, Donna (Tim) Messmer, Winnemucca, NV, Dale (Rose) Zentner, Jackson, MI, Donald (Billie) Zentner, Mandan, Dennis Zentner, Bismarck, and Dolene (Jon) Bauer, Mt. Pleasant, SC; 14 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Cecilia Heier, Bozeman, MT.

Welcoming her to Heaven, her parents; husband, Frank; infant siblings, Clements, Clara and Leona Heier; siblings, Phillip, Adam, Victor, Frank Jr., Magdalena Weiand, Genevieve Wanner, Evon Steckler, and Ann Erhardt; daughter-in-law, Gae Zentner; grandchildren, Jessica Zentner and Christopher Zentner; step-grandchild, Tia Ironside; and step-great-grandchild, Megan Ironside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Richardton American Legion Auxiliary or Richardton Christian Mothers.
