Marjorie Jacobson, 86, Dickinson, died Saturday, December 21, 2013 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. A memorial service for Marjorie will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the United Methodist Church, Dickinson, with Rev. Dan Freed officiating. Inurnment will take place at the Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Marjorie Oldis was born May 14, 1927 in Dickinson, the daughter of Alfred and Hazel (Clark) Oldis. They lived on the Logging Camp Ranch for a couple of years prior to moving to a ranch in Billings County and then a ranch in Slope County in 1938.

Marge attended grade school at the Sand Creek School, and then Bowman High School. She went on to attend college in Minneapolis where she earned a bachelors degree. Marge and Vern Jacobson were united in marriage on August 22, 1953 at Mound Church, and to this union four children were born. Vern and Marge ranched west of Amidon their entire lives together, with the last several years having moved into Dickinson.

She belonged to the united Methodist Church, where she served as an officer and with the United Methodist women, many years on the local school board and cattlewomen’s association.

Marge is survived by her four children, Loren (Kris) Jacobson, on the ranch in Slope County, Larry Jacobson, Denver, Colo., Laura Jacobson, Dickinson, and Alan (Stephanie Stevens) Jacobson, Bismarck; three grandsons, Ryan Jacobson, Matthew Jacobson, and Levi Jacobson; and two great-grandchildren, Dallas and Tori. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern on July 24, 2005; her parents; grandsons, Casey and Justin Jacobson; brother, Jack Oldis; and sister, Vivian Oldis.
