Marjorie Stefan was born on October 18, 1934 in Belfield, to Joe and Rose (Dolechek) Stefan. She began her schooling in New Hradec and then moved to St. Patrick’s in Dickinson. Marge graduated from Dickinson Central High School in 1953. On June 16, 1954 Marjorie was united in marriage to Donald C. Decker. They moved to the Decker family farm east of Dickinson. They were blessed with four children; Mickie, Kris, Bobby and John.

Marge loved celebrating holidays and making family traditions, which will always be a special memory among family and friends. Her labors of love on the farm included gardening, flower beds, her cats, a well kept yard, as well as bird watching and nightly walks with her dogs. An important part of her life was playing as much bridge with her friends as she could. Her neighborhood birthday club and high school coffee club, also were a special part in her life, and brought many memories.

Her Catholic faith was important to her; always a rosary under her pillow. She was a 50 year member of the Catholic Daughters, worked with St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary and served as a 4-H leader when the kids were young. Marge was blessed with many friendships over the years, among the most cherished being her lifelong friends, Gerry Badinger and MaryAnn Seiler. She was also fortunate to have a special bond with her sister, Dorothy Rebel.

Marge spent her final year at St. Luke’s Nursing Home. Words cannot express our gratitude to each and every one of the staff and employees whom have had a hand in her care, especially those whom towards the end, loved and treated her like family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Don on June 1, 2009; and brother Bobby. She is survived by her four children; Mickie (Marty Ostertag) Decker, Roberts, Wisc., Kris (Bill Morgan) Decker, Billings, Mont., Bobby (Jeff) Maher, Dickinson and John Decker, Dickinson; four grandchildren: Austin Stockert, Betsy Morgan, Jane Morgan and Emily Maher; and her sister, Dorothy (Ken) Rebel, Bismarck.
