Marjorie R. Pavlicek, 75, Dickinson, died Monday, February 6, 2017 at home with family at her side. Marjorie’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday, February 13, 2017 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Msgr. Patrick Schumacher as the celebrant. Inurnment will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be on Sunday from 12 p.m.to 2 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. There will be a rosary & vigil at 2 p.m., Sunday, with Deacon Bob Stockert presiding.
Marjorie R. Mann was born September 16, 1941 on the family farm in Stark County, the daughter of John and Rose (Kordonowy) Mann. She was raised on the farm between South Heart and Belfield, and received her education in Belfield and Dickinson, graduating from Central High School in 1959. She went on to attend 1 year of Business College in Rapid City, S.D.
Marjorie was united in marriage to Richard Pavlicek on November 9, 1964 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Belfield. Together they lived in Dickinson where they raised five children. Marjorie worked as a bookkeeper for West Plains Electric, and then in Environmental Services with Rodgers & Gumper Clinic and St. Joseph’s Hospital.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and did volunteer work and belonged to the auxiliary at CHI St. Alexius. She enjoyed reading books, playing Pinochle and Bingo. Her greatest enjoyment came from visiting with family and friends, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, Richard; their children, Sue (Pat) Walls, Frisco, Texas, Linette (Ron Fischer) Pavlicek, Glenwood Springs, Colo., Sharon (Chris) Newell, Highlands Ranch, Colo., Corey (Tina) Pavlicek, Dickinson, and Ryan Pavlicek, Dickinson; four grandchildren, Eric Dempsey, Bella Newell, Sabrina Newell, and Logan Pavlicek; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Tobias Dempsey; and three siblings, Josephine Krush, Dickinson, Marvin (Veronica) Mann, Dickinson, and Sam Mann, Fargo. She was preceded in death by her parents; and five brothers.
