Martha Kadrmas, 91, Dickinson, died Saturday, July 14, 2018 at St. Luke’s Home, Dickinson, due to complications of a brain aneurism. Martha’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. William Ruelle as the celebrant. Interment will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Ron Keller presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Martha Fisher was born on October 7, 1926 on a farm south of South Heart, daughter of Vincent and Anna (Ficek) Fisher. She was the youngest of eight surviving siblings.

She was educated in New Hradec at the Sts. Peter and Paul boarding school in New Hradec and graduated from Model High in Dickinson in May 1944. She worked at the briquetting plant and Helen’s Frock Shop, but was best known for being the “Stamp Lady” at Gold Bond Stamp Store and for her years of work at Newby’s Hardware Hank and Ace stores.

On November 18, 1946, she married George A. Kadrmas at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson. Together they raised four children, Tim, Marlene, Ken and Kathy.

Martha was a member of the Catholic Daughters Court St. Catherine for over 50 years and a member of St. Anne’s Altar Society at St. Wenceslaus. As a member of St. Patrick’s Church she participated in the Holy Hour Program, St. Gerard’s study group, bible study, folded weekly church bulletins and made rosaries for the military and overseas missions.

When the kids were small she was a member of s sewing club compromised of female friends and relatives that would get together to repair clothes, sew on buttons and enjoy some adult interaction. For many years and up to the time of her death, Martha enjoyed getting together with friends on Wednesday afternoons for a game of cards. She was know to her great-grandsons as “the best card player” – ever”. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and their families.

Martha is survived by her children, Tim (Joanne) Kadrmas, Valley City, Marlene (Don) Reisenauer, Dickinson, Ken (Verna) Kadrmas, Bismarck, and Kathy (Dan) Davis, Dickinson; grandchildren, Terry (Becky) Kadrmas, Traci (Scott) Sand, Michael Drear, Justin (Shannon) Reisenauer, Matt Reisenauer, Megan Kadrmas, Luke (Krystle) Kadrmas, and Shannon (Kolie) Kadrmas; nine (soon to be 10) great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Martha (Kadrmas) Engelhardt, Fargo and Clara (Kudrna) Fisher, Dickinson; and brother-in-law, Dick Hildebrant, Kennewick, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George, on September 27, 2002; her parents; mother-in-law; three sisters; four brothers; five sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; daughter-in-law, Diane (Kostelecky) Kadrmas; and several nieces and nephews.
