Marvel Anita Bishop was born December 22, 1915 at Casselton, the daughter of JR and Emma (Strehlow) Bishop. She was raised and educated in Casselton, graduating as class Salutatorian from Casselton High School. She went on to attend St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Bethlehem, Pa., where she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse.

She began doing private duty nursing in Pennsylvania where she met William Musselman. The two were married on September 27, 1941, during Bill’s two day furlough in Junction City, Kan. Following his discharge from the service, they moved to Fargo, with a stay in Arthur and New Salem prior to making Dickinson their home in 1968. During this time Marvel continued to work as a private duty nurse, until retiring in 1970. Her husband Bill died on November 13, 1983.

Marvel remained in Dickinson until eight years ago when she moved to the Golden Valley Manor in Beach and eventually to the Wibaux Nursing Home.

She had belonged to the Elks, and the United Methodist Church. Reading, crossword puzzles, painting and shopping occupied her spare time.

Marvel is survived by her daughter, Debb (Steve) Weninger, Sentinel Butte; three grandchildren, Jodi Rubke, Ft. Myers, Fla., Tawnya (Jeremy) Bulger, Beach, and Michelle (Kim) Knecht, Beulah; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; and brother, Reynolds Bishop.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Ronald McDonald House in Bismarck, Golden Valley Manor, Beach, or to the Wibaux County Nursing Home, Wibaux.
