Marvin Craig Svihl, 62, New Hradec, died Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at his home. A Liturgy of Word Service will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Ladbury Funeral Service with Fr. Shane Campbell as presider. Inurnment will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, New Hradec. Visitation will be on Tuesday one hour prior to the service, with a rosary at 1 p.m.

Marvin Craig Svihl was born on July 21, 1959 in Dickinson, the son of Rolland and Yvonne (Kruger) Svihl. He grew up on the family farm near Versippi until the family moved to New Hradec. He attended Sts. Peter and Paul Grade School until the eighth grade and then attended Dickinson High School until the tenth grade. He quit school to go to work for Huskey’s Briquetting Plant for many years. He worked for R.F. Kadrmas and then went to work for Nick Letang. He had various jobs until he worked for M-Bar-D and then later working for Miller Insulation.

Marvin was united in marriage to Kari McCabe on January 25, 1985. Together they had three children, Sara, Rolland and Savanna.

He loved to spend time with his kids, grandkids and especially loved to be on the boat and fish.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Kari, New Hradec; children, Rolland (Dawn Berginski) Svihl, St. John and Savanna (Tim) Urban, New Hradec; three grandchildren, Michael Urban, Aurora Urban and Preston Urban; his mother, Yvonne, New Hradec siblings, Cyndi (Charlie) Noyce, Dickinson, Marcey (Charlton) Courtney, New Hradec, Roger (Carol) Svihl, Mandan, Carmey (Larry) Frank, Rhame, Shannon Svihl, New Hradec and Blaine (Jill) Svihl, Dickinson; and also numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Sara; father, Rolland; brothers, Rolland and Bradley; sisters, Shelly Courtney and Darla Svihl; maternal and paternal grandparents.
