Marvin Pete Wanner, 78, Dickinson, died Monday, April 6, 2020 at Country House, Dickinson. There will be private Mass of Christian Burial for Marvin at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson with Msgr. Patrick Schumacher as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson.

Marvin Pete Wanner was born April 19, 1941 in Dickinson, the son of Pete and Rose (Klein) Wanner. He was educated at Newport Grade School and continued his education at Gladstone High School, having graduated in 1959.

Marvin was united in marriage to Mildred Mae Muth on September 29, 1959 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson. Together they had three children, Duane, Jeff and Gerri.

Marvin worked for Kuhn’s Standard for three years, at Sears in Dickinson for three years, three years at Sears in Glendive, Mont. and 19 years at Sears in Jamestown. He was the owner of Dickinson TV and Appliance for ten years and Wanner Western Wear for 23 years. In addition, he fixed sewing machines for 33 years.

He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6308. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Millie; children, Duane (Cheryl) Wanner, Maple Grove, Minn., Jeff (Carol) Wanner, Peoria, Ariz. and Gerri (Wade) Scott, Hamburg, Minn.; seven grandchildren, Nick (Natalie) Wanner, Libby (Asher) Seering, Tyler Wanner, Nichole Brand, Sommer Scott, Mitchell Scott and Rachel Scott; great-grandchildren, Brooke and Edmund; brothers, Donald (Jean) Wanner, Dickinson and Ray (Sharon) Wanner, Dickinson; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Wanner, Gladstone; numerous nieces and nephews; and his Country House family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Rose; and his brother, Norman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Country House or Heartland Hospice.
