Marvin Robert Urlacher, 64, Laurel, MT, died on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at his home. Marvin’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, June 20, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, New England with Fr. Dennis Schafer as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, New England. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Bob Stockert presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass at the church.

Marvin was born on June 1, 1961, to Lawrence and Clementine (Stockert) Urlacher. He was the youngest of five children and grew up on the family farm near Scranton, North Dakota.

Marvin graduated from Scranton High School in 1979. While in high school, Marvin participated in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), was a running back on the football team, loved cars, played in the school band, and had a passion for music. He was always singing, playing, and listening to music. Marvin was a talented drummer and played drums in a band called Verle McDaniel and Company, which played mostly in bars around the Bowman, ND and Baker, MT areas. Marvin went on to the Yellowstone School of Broadcasting, graduating in 1984, where his love for music and gift of gab came together perfectly. Marvin was a friendly and outgoing person with a big laugh who could easily draw people into conversation or talk to a radio audience.

Marvin married Wendie Allen on April 15, 1989, at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in New England, North Dakota. Marvin and Wendie welcomed two children, daughter Danielle born April 27, 1990, and son Dillon born May 24, 1994. Marvin later married Barbara Anhorn on October 12, 2001.

Over the years Marvin worked at various jobs in the oilfield, radio stations, and car dealerships. While working in radio, Marvin wrote a book that was published in 1989 titled, Radio Broadcasting Sales: Making an Intangible Tangible. He enjoyed woodworking as a hobby and learning new skills with his most recent being learning to play guitar. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 8345, in Billings, Montana.

Marvin leaves his family with many happy memories and will be especially missed by his children. Marvin is survived by his children, Danielle Urlacher and Dillon Urlacher of Billings, MT; brother, Dave (Teresa) Urlacher of Bowman, ND; brother, Ed (Rose) Urlacher of Bandon, OR; sister, Reyne (Rick) Schaefer of Dickinson, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Clementine Urlacher; his brother, Laverne Urlacher; and his grandparents, Rapheal and Eleanor Stockert and George and Ethel Urlacher.
