Our very special Angel, Mary Entzel, 86 was called home to the Lord on September 5, 2010.  She passed away at Triumph Hospital in Mandan.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. Mary’s funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Dickinson with Rev. Brian Davidson officiating. Interment will take place at St. Paul’s Cemetery, north of Dodge. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the family present to greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. There will be visitation one hour prior to services at the church.

Mary was born on August 7, 1924 to Jacob and Magdelena (Goodyear) Flemmer in Zap.  She was raised in Zap, and was baptized in the Lutheran faith on August 10, 1924.  She was the youngest of 14 children.  As she grew up she worked hard on the farm and worked for other farmers and their families to get by.  On February 4, 1942 she married Bernard Entzel in Sidney, Mont.  Mary and Bernard then moved to Halliday to farm and this is where they started their family and later moved to Dodge, where they continued to raise their family.  After most of the children were grown they moved to Hazen.  In 1976 Bernard passed away and Mary went to stay with her son, Daniel and his family for several months.  Later, she moved in with daughter, Irene and her family, together they lived in Billings, Mont. and later they moved to Dickinson, where she continued to live with Irene for about 34 years until she was moved to St. Luke’s Home.  She was recently moved to Triumph Hospital in Mandan where she had passed away.  Mary spent her life caring for others and never put herself before others.  She had a heart of gold and the greatest joys in her life were spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed spending time in the garden, cooking, going to the casino, reading, doing crossword puzzles, reading books to her grandkids and later great-grandkids and most of all making sure everyone else was always taken care of.  It is hard to put into words all the hardships and challenges she has had to face in her lifetime, but anytime something difficult came up in her lifetime, she faced it with dignity and respect and an enormous amount of strength.  She was an amazing person and there are no words in this world that can describe what a truly wonderful person she was.  She will be missed dearly and will be in our hearts forever.

She is survived by her children:  Melvina (Marvin) Entze, Dickinson, Maggie Jordan, Dickinson, Daniel (Maria) Entzel, San Antonio Texas, Ernest (Deb) Entzel, Lincoln, Ruth Juhl, Dickinson, Irene (Marvin) Kukla, Dickinson, David (Yvonne) Entzel, Beulah, Victor (Wanda) Entzel, Dickinson, and Delmer (Vickie) Entzel, Dickinson.  She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and one sister, Rose Wallender, Missoula, Mont.

She is preceded in death by:  husband, Bernard Entzel; two sons, Bernard Entzel Jr. and Henry Entzel; two grandsons, Leo Braun Jr. and George Girodengo; three sisters; Maggie, Katie and Eva; and nine brothers; Bernard, Dan, Andrew, John, Carl, Fred, Christ, Jacob and Gustof.
