Mary Kathleen Murphy, 73, died Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Good Samaritan Home, Mott. Kathleen’s Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday December 19, 2020 at River of Life Church International with Rev. Ed Kvaale officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Springfield, Ohio.
Mary Kathleen Nuss was born September 30, 1947 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Marcellinus W. “Marce” and Alice Mae (Farrell) Nuss. She was raised and educated in Springfield.
Kathleen was united in marriage to James V. Murphy on October 28, 1967 at St. Joseph’s Church in Springfield, Ohio and to this union four sons were born, John, Brian, Joseph and Todd.
Prior to and for a short time after their marriage, she was employed by C.E. Bauer, Springfield. In 1972, they moved to Washington State where they resided until 1988 when they moved to Ellendale where they attended Bible College. In 1992, they moved to Aberdeen, S.D. and in 1994 returned to N.D. In 1996, the family moved to New England where Jim pastored at the Assembly of God Church. Kathleen was also a licensed minister with the Assembly of God. Kathleen enjoyed visiting with her children and grandchildren, shopping and visiting with friends.
Kathleen attended the Women’s Club in New England and Aglow Woman’s Ministry in Washington. She especially loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. Kathleen enjoyed rubber stamping, collecting candles, candle holders, reading, scrapbooking, cross stitching, crossword books, coloring, and playing games on her tablet.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, James Murphy, New England; sons, John (Sara) Murphy, New England, Brian Murphy, Bemidji, Minn., Joseph (MeMe) Murphy, North Bend, Wash. and Todd Murphy, Japan; and seven grandchildren.
