Mary Senger, 83, Bismarck, formerly of Dickinson, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Mary’s Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dickinson with Fr. Robert Shea as celebrant. Luncheon to follow mass at Ladbury Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Martin’s Cemetery, south of Dodge. Visitation will be Monday, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a rosary and vigil at 6 p.m. with Deacon Bob Stockert presiding at Ladbury Funeral Home.

Mary was born on November 24, 1936 to Christ and Elizabeth (Krenzel) Plotzki in Werner, North Dakota. Mary grew up South of Dodge where she graduated from Dodge High School in 1954 as salutatorian. From there, she attended Dickinson State College where she obtained a teacher’s certificate. Mary taught at a country school south of Golden Valley for a year.

She married Anton Senger on August 22, 1956. They farmed south of Dodge for many years until his passing in 1986. She took such great care of her husband when he became ill while managing the household and raising her family. Mary taught Sunday School and belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary at St. Martin’s Catholic Church south of Dodge. She was a member of the Dodge and Dickinson School PTA. She was never afraid to learn something new, after her husband passed Mary located from the farm to Dickinson, where she started a 13 year career in dietary at St. Joe’s Hospital.

How do you encapsulate in a few words a full life lived for over 83 years? Selfless, caring, kind, strong, faith in God, and love of a family. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, teacher, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, cousin, aunt & friend.
