Date of Funeral

MaryAnn Krush, 88, Dickinson, died surrounded by family at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson on Saturday, February 22, 2025. MaryAnn’s Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Friday, February 28, 2025 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Dickinson with Msgr. Thomas Richter as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fairfield. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with a rosary and vigil at 6 p.m. with Deacon Leonard Krebs presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Friday.

MaryAnn was born on April 10, 1936 to John and Mary (Splichal) Franchuk, the youngest of three daughters. She was raised in the Belfield area where she loved exploring the riverbanks of the Heart River, finding fossils, fishing, and finding beautiful flowers of which she liked to transplant–one of these being leafy spurge.

She was educated in the Belfield school system and then had taught in a rural one-room schoolhouse in near Belfield.

MaryAnn was united in marriage to Paul Krush on June 3, 1957 at St. Demetrius Ukrainian Catholic Church and to this union seven children were born. They all shared responsibility of farm life and the satisfaction achieved during the busy days and being a part of something bigger than themselves.

She loved gardening, raising beautiful flowers, sewing, baking, and cooking. MaryAnn sang in the church choir and it was easy to hear her beautiful alto harmony of the song she sang. Her greatest love and joy was the Catholic Faith of which she would share with anyone who would listen.

MaryAnn is survived by seven children, Valerie (Jerry) Aluise, Carol (Rich) Pagard, Mark (Regina) Krush, Steve (Jean) Krush, Ron Krush, Julie (Tim) Schaper, and Kristin (Tom) Conner; 20 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Helen Christianson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, on October 17, 2016; her parents; sister, Beatrice; and three infant siblings.

MaryAnn’s family would like to thank the staff at Benedictine Living and those that shared their pastoral care with her over the years.
