MaryAnn Wetzstein was born on February 18, 1928 in Solen, to Christian and Elizabeth (Barth) Wetzstein. She was one of sixteen children.

In January of 1952, MaryAnn was wed to Joseph T. Polensky. They had been happily married for 27 years when Joe unexpectedly passed away.

MaryAnn had amazing cooking and baking skills, along with a huge giving heart. She enjoyed word search puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, writing letters, playing cards, dancing, fishing, vacationing with her family, gardening, and pampering her peonies and tulips.

MaryAnn was a caregiver and brought many blessings to those she was near. She started working at Hardee’s when their doors first opened in Dickinson, and continued with them until retirement. After retirement she continued on with her many activities and passions in life—especially traveling with family. One of her favorite places was the North Shore of Duluth, Minn.

She was a friend and mom not only to her own children, but also to all who came in contact with her. MaryAnn loved the Lord and living to her fullest everyday. Her children and grandchildren will always remember her positive attitude, laughter, and strength.

MaryAnn is survived by her three children and one step-son: Elaine (Gib) Gunwall of Dickinson, and their two sons: Shawn (Sheri) and Chase (Amanda); Wilbur (Beverly) Polensky of Dickinson, and their son: Aaron; Tina (Arthur) Kraft of Fargo, and their four sons: Ethan (Danielle), Grant, Mason, and Parker; Raymond (Donna) Polensky of Brownsville, Texas and their two daughters: Susan (Jay) and Patricia (Mark). MaryAnn is also survived by her eight great-grandkids; eight great-great-grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother.

MaryAnn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joe in April 1979; one step-daughter; five sisters; six brothers; and three great-grandsons.

The family would like to thank everyone who has expressed kindness, support, and prayers during this difficult time.
