Matt ‘Mutz’ Neurohr, 73, Dickinson formerly of Gladstone died Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Mutz’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, November 10, 2011 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Gladstone with Father Boniface Muggli celebrating. Interment will Monday, November 14 at the ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, at 11a.m. MT. Visitation will be Wednesday, beginning at 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. with a vigil at 5 p.m. at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Deacon Bob Zent presiding. Visitation will continue one prior to service time at the church. Military honors will be provided by the Dickinson Honors Team.
Mathew ‘Mutz’ Neurohr was born February 23, 1938 to John and Ana (Kronbauer) Neurohr on the family farm south of Gladstone. After graduating from high school, Mtuz joined the US Navy. After his honorable discharge in February 1956 Mutz returned to the family farm. In 1985 Mutz stopped farming and did various jobs to include construction. For the past five years he has been grateful for and blessed by the friendship and companionship of a special lady, Rosalie Barth.
Mutz was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus member, he was also a member of the St. Anthony’s Club and the Gladstone Volunteer Fire Department.
Mutz is survived by two sons, Todd (Kathy), Bismarck and Brian, Gladstone; four grandchildren, April, Isaac, Emerald, and Reed; three sisters, Helen Connell, Agnes Kolling, and Ann Marie Neurohr, all of Dickinson; one brother, John (Eleanor), Miles City, Mont., his special friend, Rosie Barth, Dickinson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mutz was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, William Connell and Frank Kolling. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to the Gladstone Volunteer Fire Department.
