Maureen F. Haman, 63, Dickinson, died Friday, September 30, 2011 at her home. Maureen’s funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Rev. Dan Freed officiating. Inurnment will take place at the St. Cecelia Cemetery, Towner. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to service time on Thursday at Ladbury Funeral Service. The family will be present on Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., to greet friends at the funeral home.

Maureen F. Haman was born August 28, 1948 in Minot, the daughter of Edward and Lois (Kuhnhenn) Haman. She was raised and educated in Towner, graduating from Towner High School in 1966. She married Dallas Koons in April of 1973 at Westhope, and later married Leslie Jones in July 1978.

Maureen moved to Dickinson in 1980, and while here she received a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from UND in 1985 and then went on to earn a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas in 1993. She had worked at Badlands Human Service Center where she helped run and coordinate many programs for families. In 2010 Maureen took on the challenge of being the Director of Stark County Social Services. During this time she was a member of several professional organizations.

She cherished spending time with her family, watching the occasional movie, and loved to travel and take trips. She also looked forward to an occasional trip to the casino.

Maureen is survived by two daughters, Nikki (Shawn) Keck, Dickinson, and Kristy (Gerald) Baumgartner, Dickinson; her mother, Lois Haman, Towner; three grandchildren, Alexys Jones, Liam Baumgartner and Linkoln Baumgartner; four step-grandchildren, Levi Keck, Shayna Keck, Duel Keck and Bravin Keck; two siblings, Myla (Jerry) Sjong, Gurnee, Ill., and Myles Haman, Towner; and several nieces and nephews, Stacy (Dean) Aberle, Shani Rudland, Doug (Jody) Sjong, Dean (Teresa) Sjong, David (Joy) Sjong, Daniel (Courtney) Sjong, and Scott (Belinda) Knudsvig; and friend and companion, Les Jones. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward; her sister, Myrna Rudland; and several uncles and cousins.
