Michelle Thomas, 45, Belfield, died Monday, May 26, 2014 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital, Rapid City, S.D. Michelle’s memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson with Pastor Scott Hojnacki officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. with the family present and will continue Wednesday, from 8 a.m. until service time at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Michelle Renee Walworth was born January 2, 1969 at Beach to Robert and Helen (Miicke) Walworth. Michelle attended grade school at Beach and graduated from Beach High School. During her high school years, Michelle worked at Grama’s Kitchen in Beach. Following graduation, Michelle began working for Jim Tescher as a ranch hand where she met her future husband, Warren Thomas and moved to the Connel ranch. Michelle and Warren later moved to the Klatt ranch where they stayed for a number of years before moving to Belfield where she opened her own day care center. In 2010 Michelle and Warren bought the Dairy Barn in Dickinson which they ran together until the time of her death.
Michelle loved being in the outdoors and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member and secretary of the ND Furtakers Assoc., Abate and the Beach American Legion Auxiliary Unit #5. Michelle was also a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Beach. In her spare time Michelle enjoyed trapping, riding motorcycle, tubing down the river, and walking in the badlands.
Michelle is survived by her husband, Warren, Belfield: four children, Heather (Matt) Buckman, Belfield, Amanda (Aaron Paulson) Thomas, Dickinson, Charlene Thomas, Dickinson, and Nicole Thomas, Belfield: her mother, Helen Walworth; two brothers, Wade (Deb) and Matthew Walworth all of Beach and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Walworth and one brother, Shawn Walworth. Arrangements are with Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, N.D. www.ladburyfuneralservice.com . In lieu of flowers the family request that a memorial be given in Michelle’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
