Mike Frenzel, 91, Dickinson, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at the Wibaux Nursing Home, Wibaux, Mont. Mike’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9 a.m., Monday, November 5, 2012 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Kregg Hochhalter as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Bob Stockert presiding.

Mike Frenzel was born March 1, 1921, in rural Stark County, south of Dickinson, the son of John and Rosa (Miller) Frenzel. He was raised on the family farm and attended school in the Frenzel School District.

Mike married Carol Kono, on June 23, 1953, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Gladstone. They made their home on the family farm until retiring into Dickinson in 1985.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and the German Hungarian Club. He was an avid bowler for many years and was a member of the Bowlers Hall of Fame.

Mike is survived by his wife, Carol; their four children, Tim (Diana) Frenzel, Jamestown, Wayne (Diane) Frenzel, Mandan, Becky Frenzel, Dickinson, and Joan Frenzel, Longmont, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Jason (Ashley) Frenzel, Cherie Frenzel, Angela (Dustin) Johnson, Jon Frenzel, Suzanne Frenzel, Mark Frenzel, and Sara Frenzel; great-grandson, Evan Frenzel; great-granddaughter, Kaia Johnson; and one brother, Clemence (Helen) Frenzel. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, John, Frank, Florian and Joe; sisters, Anna and Rosa; and an infant sister, Rose.
