Mike R. Mesa, 59, Dickinson, formally of San Jose, Calif., died Sunday, November 2, 2014. Mike’s memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Break Forth Bible Church with Pastor Larry Phalen officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church.
Mike was born September 27, 1955 at Campbell, Calif. to Ray and Carolyn (Tunstall) Mesa. Mike was raised and educated in San Jose and graduated from Branham High School. During his high school years, Mike enjoyed playing football for his high school’s football team. Following graduation, Mike attended Cabrillo College were he continued playing football. After completing his education, Mike began a career in the construction industry where he was a hod-carrier. Mike moved to Dickinson in October 2013 and worked for the Dickinson Press where he came to really enjoy the people he worked with. Mike loved what ever time he could get with family. His Christian faith was very dear to him.
Mike is survived by his father and step-mother, Ray and Fran, San Jose; two brothers, Chris (Sonia) and Steve, both of Dickinson; two sisters, Toni Mesa, Boise, Idaho and Stacey (Brian) Gooder, Salinas, Calif. and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn.
