Mildred Kubik, 98, Dickinson, died Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society, Mott. Mildred’s Rosary & Liturgy of Word Service outside of Mass will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Deacon Ron Wolberg presiding. Inurnment will take place at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., with rosary led by Gayle Pavlicek.
Mildred Urbanec was born January 29, 1917 in Dickinson, the daughter of Frank and Christine (Splichal) Urbanec of Dunn County. She was raised and educated in the Dickinson area.
Mildred was united in marriage to Laudie Kubik on October 18, 1937 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, New Hradec. They lived and farmed 17 miles north of Dickinson, where they established the Kubik Angus Ranch. They eventually moved into Dickinson where they enjoyed their remaining years.
She belonged to the Christian Mothers of the Americas. She loved to garden, cook and bake. Her entire life was devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mildred is survived by her daughters, LaVerne (John) Novasio, Rio Verde, Ariz., and LaDonna Kubik, Manning; two grandchildren, Amy (Chris) McMahen and Adam Hegel; three great-grandchildren, ShyAnn Richard, Mikenna McMahen and Landon McMahen; one sister, Blanche Kubik, Dickinson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laudie in 1983; her parents; and two brothers, Charlie and Bill Urbanec.
