Mildred “Milly” F. Perdaems, 92, Dickinson, died Monday, April 17, 2017 at St. Luke’s Home with her family at her side. Milly’s Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at South Heart with Fr. William Ruelle as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a rosary and vigil at 7 pm. at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson.
Mildred “Milly” F. Perdaems was born to Frank J. Hondl and Mary (Simek) Hondl on May 8, 1924 in Dickinson. Milly attended grade school and high school in Dickinson. Prior to her marriage, she was employed by King’s Super Value of Dickinson. On July 9, 1945, she married Gerard “Jerry” Perdaems and they moved to the Perdaems family farm near South Heart where they resided until retiring to South Heart in 1981. Milly was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in South Heart and was a member of Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters. As an avid golfer, Milly was a member of the Heart River Golf Course and on the Board of the Ladies Golf Association of Dickinson, and later she was a charter member of Pheasant Country Golf Course in South Heart. All of Milly’s hard work on the course paid off when she achieved every golfer’s dream: a hole-in-one.
Milly is survived by her husband, Jerry; five children, Jerry (Sandi), South Heart, Kathy (Larry) Diebel, Highlands Ranch, Colo., Jim (Rosella), South Heart, Jean (Mike) Koffler, Bismarck and Mary (Bob) Hankins, Billings, Mont.; eight grandchildren, JoLyn (Craig) Tessier, Leslie (Jim) Adams, Jennifer (Mike) Freeman, Amy (Steve) Martodam, Becky (Arthur) Jerome, GJ (Gloria) Perdaems, James (Jen) Perdaems and Jessica (Robert) Nasset; 21 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert (Effie) Hondl and Vince Hondl; one sister, Lil Kuchenski and one brother-in-law, Mike Friedt.
Milly is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Laudie and Frank; and sisters, Emili, Mary Vetter, Frances Friedt, Pat Stewart, Elsie Hibl, and an infant sister who died at birth.
Upon retirement, Milly and Jerry became snowbirds, golfing in Louisiana and Texas, before making their winter home in Arizona until 2013. For years, every summer brought an extended golf outing with her daughters. In addition to golf, Milly enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, playing cards, puzzling, and bowling. Milly will best be remembered for being a superb cook, as her holiday gatherings were highly anticipated with her kolaches and her noodle soup. At the core of Milly, was her strong Catholic faith and time spent with her family. She was a devoted wife to Jerry for seventy-one years. She will be forever loved and missed: wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
