Mina Zent, 83, Dickinson, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at her home. Mina’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 24, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Entombment will follow at the Dickinson Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Ralph Stockert presiding.
Mina Miller was born August 10, 1926 on the family homestead in Hettinger County near Mott, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Lindemann) Miller. She was raised and educated near Mott and had attended the Colgrove School #2.
Mina was united in marriage to Ralph Zent on September 11, 1945 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, south of Richardton. Together they farmed and made their home southeast of Dickinson until 2001, at which time they moved into Dickinson.
Mina enjoyed gardening, sewing and a variety of other needlework, cooking and baking, and listening to old time music. Her family was of a great importance and a source of joy for her, especially her grandchildren.
Mina is survived by her husband, Ralph; 10 children, Shirley (Mike) Gerhart, Dickinson, Joe Zent, Dickinson, Arnie (Linda) Zent, Bismarck, Marv (Mary) Zent, Bismarck, Paulette (Rod) Wenko, Dickinson, Mel (Jan) Zent, Dickinson, Earl (Cheryl) Zent, Eden Prairie, Minn., Gary (Rae Jean) Zent, Dickinson, Connie (Dan) Witchey, Dickinson, and Jerry (Carol) Zent, Bismarck; 18 grandchildren, Mike, Jr. (Jennifer) Gerhart, Shelly Gerhart, Michelle (Chet) Halvorson, Brandon Zent, Brian Wenko, Jason (Melinda) Wenko, Mollie Zent, Jonathan (Rebecca) Zent, Ryan (Bria) Zent, Eric Zent, Tiffany Zent, Adam Zent, Averee Zent, Karen Witchey, Jeremy Witchey, Nicole (Jason) Cook, Lance Zent and Jena Zent; and her great-grandchildren, Evan, Bennett, Calvin, Charlie, Mia, Rayden, Haylee, and Julianna. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Darlene; an infant son, Ralph; grandson, Wade Zent; great-granddaughter, Amanda Lee; and 12 siblings.
