Myrna L. Scheer September 19, 1940 - August 8, 2024

Date of Funeral

Saturday, September 7, 2024

On Aug 8, 2024, heaven gained a beautiful angel. Myrna Louise (Bradley) Scheer is now flying high, filling the skies with her love and light while watching over her family. Myrna’s Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. CT, Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the Senior Center in Ryder, ND with lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ryder, the Ryder Museum, or your favorite charity.

Myrna was born south of Parshall, ND to Frank and Inga (Larson) Bradley on Sept 19, 1940. She spent most of her childhood on the family farm just outside of Ryder. She graduated from Ryder High School in 1958 and moved to Minot, ND to work in banking.

In 1961, she married Terry Scheer from Parshall at St. John’s Church in Ryder. They started their family while living in Minot, welcoming daughter Brenda and son Todd. In 1969, they moved to Bismarck, ND where Myrna focused on raising the children until 1976. In 1976, Myrna and Terry moved to Hazen, ND owning Terry’s Red Owl. Myrna was responsible for bookkeeping, cashiers, scheduling and whatever else was necessary. In 1989, Myrna and Terry moved to Dickinson, ND. While at Dickinson, Myrna worked for Able, Inc., a non-profit organization supporting people with disabilities until 2004 when she retired. After retiring she stayed on at Able part-time for several years. In retirement, Myrna and Terry lived in San Tan Valley, AZ – summering at Lake Sakakawea and eventually moving to Battle Lake, MN.

Myrna’s hobbies included cake decorating, ceramics, reading, decorating for every season, and playing in multiple pinochle card clubs and making lifelong friends. She was an active Lion Member in Hazen, Dickinson, and San Tan Valley. She also volunteered at her churches.

For years, Myrna and Terry hosted her siblings and their families at their cabin on Lake Sakakawea over the 4th of July. Time with family was always a highlight for her, ensuring nobody went home hungry.

Words people use to describe Myrna are generous, beautiful, kind, caring, quick-witted, friendly, fun, welcoming, always smiling, a good employer, a gem of a lady and aunt.

There to welcome Myrna were her father, Frank; mother Inga; brothers, Howard, and Kenneth; sister, Lois; sister-in-law, Sue (Kenneth); brothers-in-law, Kenneth “Pete” Nelson and James Zieman; and Mike (Brenda) Jochim.

She is survived by her husband, Terry; daughter, Brenda; son, Todd (Sheila); grandpuppies, Lady II and Sherman; siblings, Lorraine Nelson, Doris Ann Zieman, and Don (Karen) Bradley; brother-in-law, Roger (Lois) Nogosek; and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
