Nancy Herauf, 80, Dickinson, died peacefully on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at St. Alexius Medical Center, Bismarck. Funeral services for Nancy will be at 2 p.m., Monday, November 19, 2012, at St. John Lutheran Evan. Lutheran Church, with Rev. Lisa Lewton officiating. Interment will follow at the Dickinson Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, and on Monday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
Nancy Rabe was born November 10, 1932, in Dickinson, the daughter of William and Grace (Dann) Rabe. She was raised and educated in Dickinson, having attended the Dickinson Public Schools through her graduation from Dickinson Normal School. She attended two years at the Stevens College in Missouri, before returning to Dickinson and completing her Bachelors Degree at Dickinson State Teachers College. She then spent two years teaching school in Hettinger.
Nancy married Herb Herauf on August 20, 1955, and they made their home in Dickinson where they owned and operated the Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Nancy was the Chairman of the Board from 1988 to her retirement in 2001. She remained as the President of the HT Enterprises and it’s Chairperson.
She was a member of the Beef Country Riders, the Midget Booster Club, Blue Hawk Boosters, and the Elks. She was an avid Blue Hawk supporter, loved tending to her horses and her animals.
Nancy is survived by her four children, William (Joan) Herauf, Dickinson, Paul (Terri) Herauf, Dickinson, Sue (Terry) Selland, Berthoud, Colo., and TJ (Carol) Herauf, Dickinson; 12 grandchildren, Hayley (Paul) Letvin, Billie Herauf, Sally Herauf, Holly Herauf, Kyle Herauf, Sam Herauf, Cooper Selland, Celsey Selland, Ben Herauf, Jess Herauf, Luke Herauf, and Mike Herauf; two great-grandchildren, Lily and Susan; and one sister, Marge (Don) Meredith, Mankato, Minn. She was preceded in death by an infant brother; her parents; and her husband, Herb on January 29, 1987.
Memorials are preferred to the Herb and Nancy Herauf Memorial Fund at Dickinson State University.
