Nathan “Nate” Stephen Furr, 39, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020, in Twin Buttes. Nathan’s Celebration of Life Service will be 1 p.m. MDT, Friday, October 30, 2020 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Nate was born May 24, 1981 to Stephen and Sydney Furr in Salt Lake City, Utah. He had so much beautiful, dark hair that when the nurses would bring him into Sydney, he had a new style each time. The nurses sent him home with his first hairbrush. He would become the teasing, older brother to Maryn two and a half years later. He lived on Hartford Street in Sugarhouse Park the first eleven years of his life. This is where Nate and Adam Lyman became best buddies forever. It was so fun to watch these two guys grow up together. Nate was also a special friend to the more senior neighbors. Lu and Boyd were two of his favorites. Of course, Mather’s were the best neighbors ever. And we must not forget Nelda.

Nate learned to love the mountains and ATV riding from the time he was 6 weeks old and started camping down at Furr Hollow. He would help his dad cut trees for firewood for the winter. This must have been where he learned to love using a chainsaw. He later enjoyed going to Bear Hollow to again camp and ride the four-wheelers. When he reached the age to buy his Banshee, the sand dunes and his buddies is where you would find him.

In 1992, the family moved to Rose Canyon where he helped the folks build their log home. This is where Nate learned the principle of the rocks – which he did not like. Here he attended middle school and graduated from Bingham High School. Austin Emmer and Landon Star became Nate’s great friends during this time.

Nate and Lisa met December 20, 2004. In 2007, Steve was in need of a kidney transplant. The kids had an early wedding on November 3, 2007 so that Lisa could take family leave to care for Steve after surgery. They had their beautiful mountain wedding on July 11, 2008. They purchased their home in North Salt Lake in 2008. This is where they started their family. Devoe Madoh-Niku Swede Furr was born in 2009. Looks just like dad. Miss Chloe Furr was born in 2011. His beautiful little daughter. Nate loves and adores his children. They would snuggle with their daddy every chance they could get.

This past year has been especially great for Nate and his family. After working in the oil fields and not being able to be home every night, he finally had a job where he could be with Lisa and the kids every day and night. It was great! This made it so much easier for them to go camping down at Lake Sakakawea which all of them just loved. The kids playing in the lake, Nate sitting around the fire. Or come be with the folks in Beulah. Life was good. A second plus was Nate was able to purchase the truck of his dreams. A black 2016 Chevy Duramax 2500 Diesel Silverado with all the bells and whistles you can think of. He was so excited to be driving his cool truck.

As we know, Nate is a very special individual. He has many special friends that he held dear to his heart. Grandma and Grandpa Clissold, Aunt Lu, Auntie Bessie. There are many others that he was a special brother to, friend, working buddies, relatives. The list would go on forever. We love you, Nate, we miss you, and we look forward to the day when we will be together again. Lisa and the children know that you will be their guardian angel and watching over them. Your family and friends will also being watching over them. ‘Til we meet again, Nate. Hugs
