Neil Cassezza, 65, Richardton, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Hospital & Health Center, Dickinson. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Deacon Tony Wanner presiding. Inurnment will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to service time at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Neil was born February 13, 1946 in Richardton, the son of Aloys and Alice (Mischel) Cassezza. He was raised and educated in Richardton, and was married to Eileen Hamann.
Neil had spent a brief time in the United States Air Force. Throughout his life he worked mainly as an auto mechanic and one point had owned a gas station. He also did wood working, building bird houses and restoring old houses. Neil enjoyed gardening, checkers, cards and playing the guitar and organ. He loved to go dancing and socialize.
Neil is survived by four siblings, Marvin (Wilma) Cassezza, Gladstone, Alvin (Lana) Cassezza, Beaverton, Ore., Lowell Cassezza, Rapid City, S.D., and Yvonne Coleman, Billings, Mont.; and his special friend (fiance) Marilyn Gawrylow, Dickinson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, David and Norman; and sister, Mary Beth.
