Olga Polanycia, 60, Belfield, died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. A Parastas for Olga will be on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10 a.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with Fr. Taras Miles presiding. Interment will take place at the Nevada Cemetery, Nevada, Iowa. Visitation will be on Monday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Olga Polanycia was born May 15, 1950 at Stuttsgart, Germany, the daughter of Iwan and Kateryna “Katie” (Polanycia) Polanycia. She came to the United States via ship in December 1950, accompanied by her father, mother, brother and sister. She graduated from Belfield High School in 1971, and the attended technical institute in Denver, Colo., attaining an AA in Computer Science. Olga was employed at the Alan Company, Denver as a seamstress. Later moved to Texas and worked at Fiberlite as a Lab Technician. Several years later moved to Belfield to pursue a career in food service.

Olga was actively involved in the church community of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, and enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and embroidery.

Olga is survived by her mother, Katie, Dickinson; four siblings, Nick (Noel) Polanycia, Arvada, Colo., Maria Polanchek, Sudbury, Mass., Pete (Carolyn) Polanycia, Lakeland, Fla., and Annie (Steve) Burrell, Brooklyn Park, Minn.; nine nieces and nephews, Kathy Ann, Zera, Myco, JC, Michele, Andrew, Nicole, Chris and Alex; and four great nieces and nephews, Michael, Colton, Mattie and McKenna. She was preceded in death by her father in September 1990.
