Pam Locket, 62, Dickinson, died Sunday, November 1, 2015 surrounded by her family at Sanford Health, Bismarck, due to complications from a major stroke. As per Pam’s request, her organs were donated, allowing for her to give in death as she did in life. Pam’s funeral and service of remembrance will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 7, 2015 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dickinson, with Rev. Lisa Lewton and Rev. Joe Natwick officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery, Dickinson. Visitation will be on Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, and will continue on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m., Friday at Ladbury Funeral Service.
Pamela Lyn Morris was born on March 17, 1953 in Forsythe, Mont. to Wayne and Beth (Lambourn) Morris. Pamela married Tom Locket on May 5, 1978 in Dickinson.
Pamela attended New England Public School until she earned her diploma in the spring of 1971. Pamela attended Mary College and Dickinson State University where she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse. Later returning to Dickinson State University to teach clinical nursing.
After her husband, Tom, her true love passed in 1987, Pam worked full time while attending college and raising four sons by herself. She later worked at Dickinson Nursing Home (St. Benedicts), St. Luke’s Nursing Home (26 years), and Sanford Continuing Care Center, Mandan (5 years).
Pamela was passionately involved at the Association for Retarded Citizens where she served on the Board and was President for several years over the North Dakota Chapter. Pam attended national conferences in Washington D.C. where she represented North Dakota. She volunteered at Camp Recreation as the camp nurse, with her sons. Here she discovered her passion for the disabled. In her later years, she developed a love for the game of golf which she enjoyed playing with her sons, family and friends. She enjoyed reading, sewing and cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her monster cookies & special salsa.
Pamela will be greatly missed by sons, Edward (Janet) Duncan, Colorado Springs, Colo., TeJay Locket, Robert (Kelli Wojahn) Locket, Michael (Elizabeth) Locket, Dickinson; grandchildren, Miranda, Madelyn, Dante, Hannah, Alexis, George and Miley; one sister, Carla Morris, Dickinson; five brothers, James (Arlene) Morris, Gillette, Wyo., Robert (Linda) Morris, Mandan, Milo (Pam) Morris, Dickinson, Jeff (Lorie) Morris, Vancouver, Wash., Guy (Dana) Morris, Portland, Ore.; and many nieces and nephews.
