Patricia (Carter) Wetzel, 79, Grassy Butte, died Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at CHI St. Alexius, Dickinson. A Celebration of Life Gathering for Patricia will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson. Inurnment will follow at the Glen Ullin Cemetery, Glen Ullin,. There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends on Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service.

Patricia Carter was born on October 18, 1943 in Glen Ullin, the daughter of William and Ann (Keller) Carter. She was the fourth child of six children. Patricia grew up on the family farm and attended school in Glen Ullin, where she graduated high school in 1962.

Patricia married Carl Wetzel, Jr. on August 19, 1967. They made their home in Hebron and had three children. They welcomed Amber their eldest child in 1974 and eight years later they had twins, Andrew and Zachary.

In 1984, Patricia would move to Dickinson with her children and work at the Public Library until 2005. She loved to spend her free time solving crossword puzzles, knitting and putting together puzzles. She was a great listener and always had to chat with family and friends. Patricia enjoyed traveling with her children to different parts of the US. She shared a love for animals that she passed on to her children.

Patricia will be joining her parents and eldest sister, Dallas in Heaven where they once again can have some good discussions. She is survived by her children, Amber (Duane) Carr, Andrew and Zachary (Valery); grandchildren, Dustin Carr and Cheyene Carr; great-grandchildren; Anastasia and Bojay Carr; three brothers, Harley (Helen), Wayne “Happy” and Clayton (Jan); and her younger sister, Ruth (Scott) Armstrong.
