Paul C. Oster, 88, Dickinson formerly of Gladstone, ND, died Sunday, December 30, 2007 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson. Paul’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Richardton with Fr. Boniface Muggli, OSB as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m.. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Paul C. Oster was born January 4, 1919 on the family farm north of Gladstone in Dunn County, the son of Paul Sr. and Ida (Muth) Oster. He was raised and educated in the Gladstone area.

Paul married Hattie Kovash on October 16, 1944 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, New Hradec, ND. They farmed together north of Gladstone on Paul’s parents homestead.

Paul enjoyed going for walks, playing the accordion, watching the animals, playing cards and bingo, listening to music, and the time spent with his family and grandkids visiting and telling stories.

Paul is survived by five daughters, Patricia (Jerry) Mackey and Rosemary (Cliff) Weiler, Gladstone, Diana (Delmer) Entze, Dilworth, MN, Geraldine (Dave) Taylor and Joyce (Curtis) Volesky, Bismarck; one brother, Frank (Lillian) Oster, Rosemont, MN; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie on July 2, 2000; his parents; three sisters, Katherine, Magdalene and Regina; one grandson, Jay Mackey; and one great-grandson, Darius Mackey.
