Paul Kukla, 89, passed away July 29, 2017 at Lakeside Manor, Lakeside, Calif. There will be a graveside service 10 a.m., Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the Korsun Cemetery, southwest of Killdeer with Fr. Darnis Selvanayakam, MSFX presiding. Military honors will be provided by the Killdeer American Legion Ezra Barrows Post #46.

Paul Kukla was born August 22, 1927 to Prokop and Anastacia (Meluha) Kukla, the youngest of 14 siblings. He attended a farm school near Killdeer known as Whetstone, later moved to Killdeer with his mother and attended high school. He then moved to Fargo where he went to college. He joined the Air Force and served our country for 22 years, retiring as Lt. Colonel at San Diego Air Force Base. Paul stayed in San Diego where he owned and operated King Koil Laundry Mat, also built boats for a short while. He was an avid golfer and loved traveling.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents; all 13 siblings, nine brothers, Dan, Emil, Jack, Willie, Mike, Pete, Alex, Tony, and John; four sisters, Herpena, Polly, Mary and Marie; and 20 nieces and nephews.
